Pier 39

Pier 39 is just one of the many piers that line the coast of the San Francisco Bay in California, but it is the one that is most popular with tourists and locals alike. You will be able to find a large shopping center here. Pier 39 also includes a video arcade, an interpretive center for the Marine Mammal Center, street performances, virtual 3D rides, and the Aquarium of the Bay. Visitors to Pier 39 will also be able to view the California sea lions that live out in the marina off of the docks on Pier 39. If you look out into the bay you can also see Angel Island, Alcatraz Island, and The Golden Gate Bridge. If you want to have a truly interesting meal, you can always go to the Forbes Island Restaurant. It is a floating restaurant right on the bay. This Pier is also just steps away from Fisherman’s Wharf and is close to North Beach, Embarcadero, and Chinatown. The streetcars of San Francisco come to Pier 39. There are a few hotels in the area surrounding Pier 39. The most popular hotels to stay in are the usually the closest the Pier 39 as well as those that are near Fisherman’s Wharf.
