Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is a large urban park that consists of more that 100 acres of public ground. It is configured inside a rectangle shapes and is similar to Central Park in New York City. Golden Gate Park is the third most visited park in the United States, and it is because there are so many different attractions that are offered at Golden Gate Park. Some of the more popular features include the Japanese Tea Garden, the Music Concourse, the De Young Museum and the Academy of Sciences. The Japanese Tea Garden is a popular feature, spreading over five acres. The music concourse area is where there is a stage for performances as well as three water fountains that are surrounded by uniformly positioned maple trees. Surface parking for this area is being eliminated to open up the area and put in underground car parking facilities. The De Young Museum chronicles the life and times of the San Francisco newspaper magnate, M.H. De Young. It was rebuilt and reopened in 2005. Hotels in the vicinity of Golden Gate Park are the best place to stay in San Francisco because of the convenient location to many tourist attractions.
