Fisherman's Wharf

Fisherman’s Wharf is one of the most popular tourist attractions in San Francisco. It encompasses much of the northern waterfront area of the city from Van Ness Avenue to Ghirardelli Square and east to Pier 35 and Kearny Street. Fisherman’s Wharf combines some of the best attractions that the city has to offer within this wharf. Attractions include the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, the Musee Mecanique, the Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf, the Cannery Shopping Center, and the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Visitors can spend all day long checking out the attractions, and even get a good meal. There are many restaurants and stands at Fisherman’s Wharf that sell fresh seafood. The most noted dishes are the clam chowder in a bread bowl and Dungeness crab. There are many ways to get to Fisherman’s Wharf. You can travel on the F Market heritage streetcar, the cable car line that ends at Aquatic Park, or the cable car line that stops a few blocks away. Hotels in Fisherman’s Wharf are few, but there are a couple of hotels that are just outside of the Wharf that are just a minute’s walk from the northern waterfront attractions.
