Irving Hotels
IrvingIrving is a small town in Texas with a population of approximately 200,000 people. It is a scant 20 minutes drive from Dallas, but has plenty to offer on its own. There is shopping of all levels, from haute couture brand names to vintage clothing stores, there are museums that cover Texas’ history in extensive detail, there are tours of the stadium where the Dallas Cowboys play, the list is endless. There is the world famous Mustangs Of Las Colinas, the largest bronze equestrian sculpture in the world, which depicts the beautiful mustang horses of Texas crossing a river. For food, there is fine dining on a world scale, from high-rise restaurants with views of Dallas and Fort Worth, to Tex-Mex style taco stands and vendors on the streets. Irving is home to the Las Colinas Equestrian Center, known the world over for its polo fields and riding adventures. There’s a beautiful zoo in Ft. Worth, too. If you’ve ever wanted to see a rodeo, Irving is the place to do it, with everything from bronco busting to steer roping. This is the real west. There are also museums, including the National Scouting Museum, which has a huge collection of Norman Rockwell paintings, the Age of Steam Railroad Museum, and there’s also the Dallas Arboretum, which, due to the year round warm weather, always has something beautiful in bloom. For those of you who are into antiques, a quick walk or trolley ride will take you to McKinney Avenue, home of dozens of antiques stores, many of which specialize in Texas/Southwest themed antiques. There is also a huge, modern aquarium in Irving, which will entertain anyone, regardless of age. The Irving Arts Center offers performances of all kinds, all year long, including concerts of all types of music, and live dramatic performances as well. Irving is close enough to Dallas to be convenient, yet far enough away to preserve its own sense of identity and central Texas pride.
