Dallas Hotels
DallasFor most Americans, anyway, think of Dallas, and you think of the NFL football team, The Dallas Cowboys, or the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. Scratch beyond that surface, however, and you’ll find so many interesting and exciting things to do here that have nothing to do with sports at all! Dallas offers amusements of all varieties, including museum exhibits, concerts, and world class shopping and dining experiences. Dallas has a zoo, a sculpture garden, a Six Flags amusement park, and numerous go-cart racetracks. For children, in addition to Six Flags, there’s a Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum, a wax museum, and Dinosaur Valley State Park, which, though it unfortunately doesn’t contain any dinosaurs, does contain spectacular rock formations with scenic views. There’s also the Grapevine Vintage Railroad that takes passengers on a scenic journey between Grapevine and local stockyards. If you’re a nature lover, there’s something for you too! There’s the Fort Worth Nature Center, a planetarium, and the gorgeous Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Or perhaps you’re a shop ‘til you drop kind of person? Dallas offers the Grapevine Mills Mall, Stockyards Station, or, for upscale stuff, the NorthPark Center. If you want history, Dallas has that, too, in the form of Grapevine Cotton Belt Railroad Historic District, or the Stockyards National Historic District. If you’re a music fan, there are always concerts, from Pop to Country to even Opera. And from October of 2008 through May of 2009, the Dallas Museum of Art will be hosting Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs. And we haven’t even talked about golf yet! There are six municipal golf courses, and of course the weather is usual great for golf in Dallas.
