Chicago Hotels
ChicagoChicago is a beautiful city with a population of three million people located on the southwest shore of Lake Michigan. It is truly a metropolitan Mecca, with stylish sophistication and world-renowned architecture. It is a city of extremes, very warm in the summer, and very cold in the winter, nothing wishy-washy about Chicago! Beginning with the Navy Pier and Boardwalk, which has everything from a hundred and fifty foot high Ferris wheel to shopping to boat tours, and ending with the world famous Sears Tower, there is so much to see and do in Chicago that it would fill up pages to describe it all. There’s also Millennium Park, which offers live music, art exhibits, sculptures, and ice-skating in the winter. Chicago is home to many museums with different specialties, ranging from science (the Field museum, which contains the bones of “Sue”, the most complete T Rex skeleton to be found anywhere in the world, the Adler Planetarium, an astronomy museum, and an immense aquarium) to art (the Art Institute of Chicago), and even a museum of African American History. The tradition of theatre is so strong in Chicago that it has its own theatre district, and one can see live performances of anything from dramas to musicals just about any night of the week. As far as nightlife, Chicago is the home of the blues, and there are countless jazz and blues clubs, many that just stay open all night long. If shopping is what you like, Michigan Avenue is where you’ll want to start. Chicago has everything from the upscale to the trendy to the vintage to antiques. The River North Gallery District has antiques stores that will keep treasure hunters happy for days. As for the food, there is no way to describe the options. From the hot dog vendors on the street corners to the five star restaurants downtown, there is literally something for every palate. In the warm weather, may eateries open their large glass windows, roll out the awnings, and become instant al fresco bistros. There is atmosphere and then some in Chicago.
