Oosterpark

Oosterpark is a lovely park located in the Eastern area of Amsterdam, and is a perfect place to drop in and spend a casual afternoon. If you have been rushing around trying to catch all of the sights to see in this lovely city, give yourself some time to relax, and visit the Oosterpark. This park is a very family-friendly pit stop, with many shaded grassy areas, and a beautiful pond that attracts many birds for feeding or just watching, and is a perfect location for a picnic or a nap, or just a quick game of Frisbee. If you have a bicycle, the parks winding paths are very bike friendly, and this is a good way to see all of the scenery that the park has to offer. If you are visiting Amsterdam in June, you should consider timing your visit to the park with the annual Amsterdam Roots Festival, which is a popular music festival that takes place every June in the Oosterpark, and is a fun activity for any lover of world music. If you aren’t there during the festival, you will still have opportunities to view a number of culturally diverse musicians, as this park is very popular with street musicians from all walks of life.
