Nederlands Scheepvaart Museum

The Nederlands Scheepvaart Museum was founded in 1966 and, since 1973, is harbored in the "Admiralties Magazijn" that was built in 1656 as a ship's storehouse. This museum celebrates Netherlands' glorious maritime past, fostering the knowledge of the history of the maritime tradition of the Dutch Navy. Among the many interesting things that you can find in this Museum we would like to point out the copy of an East Indiaman ship, where a living crew of actors will let you feel as a XII century seaman. Don't forget, while in the museum, to take a look at the Jan van den Dam planetarium, the oldest working planetarium in Holland.
