Location. The Hotel Basico is an adults only hotel located one block from the beach in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Xcaret stands three kilometers from this property.
Hotel Features. Traditional Mexican cuisine, including locally caught fish and handmade tortillas, are prepared at Hotel Restorant. La Azotea is a rooftop bar and terrace adjacent to two circular outdoor pools flanked by hammocks and cabanas. The bar and pools afford views of the Caribbean Ocean. The toolboxes open to reveal ashtrays, Polaroid film for the white cameras that are attached to the beds, and remote controls for flat screen televisions. Pillowtop mattresses, oversize pillows and white, 100 percent cotton sheets are provided. Rooms feature heavy blond wood doors fitted with saw handles, behind which stand small, enclosed toilet areas. Toilets feature mini disco balls connected to chains that function as flushing mechanisms. Sinks and bathtubs share the bedroom space.
