The imperial Forum represented in ancient Rome the centre of the life of the city of Rome. It was in this area, which, unluckily, today is split in half by a road built for parades during Fascism, that the Romans gathered for commercial, political and judicial matters. You will have a chance to pass by the Rostra, a platform used for delivering speeches to the people, here Shakespeare placed the famous speech by Marc Anthony after Caesar’s murder, and here were displayed the head and the hands of Cicero after that he was executed; you will see the Arch of Septimus Severus, the remains of the Temple of Saturn, the Arch of Titus and many more, all placed along the "Via Sacra" (Holy Road).
