Via Montenapoleone is a street in Milan, Italy, which is known for its high-end fashion and accessories shops. It is the Milanese equivalent to New York City's Fifth Avenue, or Los Angeles' Rodeo Drive. It is considered to be the most important street in Milan's fashion district, and walking down the street you can read one famous name after another, from Versace to Dolce & Gabbana to Calvin Klein and Gucci. Jewelry and accessories, too, are well represented here. Via Montenapoleone is home to shops by Bulgari, Tiffany's, and Cartier to name but a few. This is definitely not the place to shop for those who seek bargains and the hustle and bustle of street vendors. In addition to all of the upscale fashion merchandise, Via Montenapoleone is home to many trendy eateries and markets, which sell everything from gourmet cheeses, wine, sausages, to cakes and desserts. Parking is nearly nonexistent, but the street is easily accessible via all modes of public transportation. Even if the exclusive shops located here are outside your budget, Via Montenapoleone is still worth a visit, just to look at the spectacular window displays, or sit with an espresso and watch all of the beautiful people go by.
