This city holds about 80,000 people and was once home to The Colossus of Rhodes which was one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek god Helios. Built over 2200 years ago this statue stood about 107 feet tall. The statue fell over during an earthquake only 56 years after being built and the people attributed its destruction to the angering of Helios. However, even with the “Wonder” gone there is plenty of other things to do including a wide range of museums, historical sites, and historical walking areas.
