The location of Syntagma Square is in the centre of Athens, Greece. Its name is related to the Constitution King Othon. This king had to accord it to the people after a military uprising in 1843. The Square is bordered by Filiellinon Street, Othonos Street, Vassilieos Georgiou A Street, and a set of marble steps that lead to Amalias Avenue. Just behind the steps like the Syntagma metro station. There are also many outdoor cafes and shops in this area, still a little secluded from the busy business district. This is a popular place for the locals to gather so they can sit back, enjoy some coffee, and take in the beauty of the shade trees in the green areas to the north and south of the square. There is also a large water fountain in the center of the square that gives relief to some of the Athenians during the hot summer months.
Hotels in Syntagma Square are affordable and will give you all the amenities you could ask for while on vacation in Greece. You will also be just a few steps away from some of the most popular central Athens spots and tourist attractions that include restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs.
