WhitechapelGeneral Info Whitechapel is an inner city district located in east central London, known historically has home to Jack the Ripper and the Elephant man. It is known today primarily for it’s colorful, working class atmosphere and bustling energy. There are uncountable “Jack the Ripper” tours available in Whitechapel, by bus, by motor coach, and of course by foot. You can take a guided walking tour of the Whitechapel district that covers the Jack the Ripper story in detail while showing the local haunts of the victims, where the bodies were discovered, etc. Or maps can be purchased for self-guided walking tours, and all pertinent locales can be explored at your leisure. Whitechapel today is home to many aspiring artists, and is home to an eclectic mixture of ethnicities and cultures, vintage clothing shops and a variety of Middle Eastern restaurants.
