Tate Britain Art GalleryGeneral Info The Tate Britain Art Gallery is located near the House of Parliament, and is a wonderful museum that displays works from the latest modern pieces, to as far back as the 1500’s. It is known for its eclectic range, and is constantly updating its exhibitions to reflect a wide range of artistry, across all forms and media. There is also a permanent collection that is dedicated to the history of British Art from 1500 to today, and contains work from the masters of the Pre-Raphaelite period, to Francis Bacon and Rachel Whiteread. One of the most significant collections of Joseph Mallord William Turner is located in the Turner Gallery, and contains some of his most known work, including Norham Castle. Other highlights of the permanent collection include Millais’ Ophelia and The Lady of Shallot by Waterhouse. If you are staying in a hotel near the House of Parliament, then it is only a short trip to the Tate, and it would be well worth the time to see some of these significant pieces.
