Saint Paul's Cathedral

The phrase “must see” is often overused, but in the case of the Cathedral of Saint Paul, it has never been a truer statement. Any visit to London requires a stop at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Perched atop Summit Hill, this distinctively French inspired cathedral has long been a monument to Catholicism in England, and still performs daily masses, and a complete Sunday Mass is delivered with all of the regalia that the Catholic Church can offer. Much of the world saw Saint Paul’s Cathedral for the first time during the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, and it is still remembered fondly as the most glorious wedding the world has seen. The ornamentation of the Cathedral is beyond description, and many scholars have spent their lives studying only this building, and still are uncovering new beauties within its walls. From the bronze canopy of the Sanctuary, to the magnificent stained glass windows throughout the chapels, to the many paintings and frescoes depicting scenes from the history of Christianity, each area of the Saint Paul Cathedral is even more resplendent than the next. In the days when churches were built to be supreme, and ornate monuments to God, the Cathedral of Saint Paul stands out as a shining example of displaying man’s religious devotion and love through artistry.
