Royal National TheatreGeneral Info The National Theatre of Great Britain, or the Royal National Theater, is located in Greater London, in the borough of Lambeth, just east of the south end of the Waterloo Bridge. It is actually a grouping of theaters, each of which can run three shows at a time. It is known for everything from classic drama to Shakespeare to modern dramas by up and coming playwrights. The three auditoria are the Olivier, the Lyttelton, and the Cottesloe. They are of different dimensions, and have different numbers of seats, to accommodate different audiences. There is so much going on at this theater that there will literally be something for everyone. Backstage tours are available, where you can see the actual day-to-day operatioins of a theater of this magnitude, and there are exhibitions in the public areas of the theater.
