Only a few kilometers north of Westminster Palace lies the Photographer’s Gallery, a gem for art lovers interested in the medium of photography. Established in 1971, this is one of the premier galleries dedicated to the photograph, and best of all is completely free to the public. Exhibits are rotated constantly, and range from the latest cutting edge talents, to an archive of historical photographs from when photography was in its infancy.
Nestled within the displays is its popular café with seating directly within one of the gallery exhibits, that is renowned for its food and ambiance. Seating is limited, and you should be prepared to wait for your chance to enjoy this unique experience, but you will likely find it to be well worth the time spent. If you are touring London and have an eye for art, this is one of those out of the way stops that will have you talking with your friends for hours about this terrific “spot” you found in London; and if you are a photographer, you have probably had this site on your list for as long as you have been thinking about visiting London.
