Islington

Islington is one of London’s central boroughs, located just slightly north of the exact center of London. Islington has long drawn journalists, and actors, and as a result has a thriving cultural life. There is theater of all sorts, all year round, not to mention galleries and boutiques along nearly every street. Due to its eclectic and liberal inhabitants, Islington is home to some of the best and most interesting restaurants in London, along with pubs and bistros, which contribute to its vibrant and unending nightlife. Islington is also known for its antique shops; it is part of the Clerkenwell district, with all of its historic associations, and there are many places to spend a leisurely afternoon browsing: The famous Camden Passage Antiques Gallery leads to Regent’s Canal and Clerkenwell, and for you soccer fans, Islington is home to the world famous Arsenal football team, and their home grounds. Islington is conveniently accessible via rail or underground.
