Green ParkGeneral Info The Green Park, with its 19 hectares, it is the smallest of the 8 Royal Parks. Quite close to Buckingham Palace, although of humble origin, it soon became a royal favorite: King Charles II, for instance, used it to entertain his visitors and it was also a favorite place of Queen Caroline, wife of King George II. This quiet place, with its mature trees and grassland, is often sought after by people living, working or visiting central London, and it is open every day all year round and is bordered by the Queen's Walk, Piccadilly and the Constitution Circle. Its paths are gladly used by joggers and runners. A curiosity: Green Park was used in 1746 to celebrate the end of the war for the Hanoverian Succession with a national party with fireworks (on this occasion Handel wrote his "Music for the Royal Fireworks").
