  There can be no better place to spend Christmas than in London. Just the phrase conjures up images of revelers looking in through misty windows at displays of candy and toys, and of carolers in the streets; you can almost hear sleigh bells as you are transported back to the time of Dickens on the aroma of grog and cider. There is a magnificent tree in Trafalgar Square, which is donated yearly from Norway in gratitude for Great Britain’s help of that country during WWII. It stands next to the fountain, creating a beautiful picture. There are also outdoor ice rinks all over The City in the Christmas season, not to mention spectacular light shows. The light display in the West End, in particular, draws sightseers from all over the world. And this doesn’t even begin to cover the indoor fun. From shopping at Harrods to the world famous Christmas Teas which are available at most hotels, Christmas in London is like stepping back in time. From soup to goose to pudding, Christmas meals add to the ambience. It is truly a once in a lifetime experience that any traveler will remember for years to come.
