These electric lights are attached to just about anything that is stationary. They are literally everywhere and add a circus or carnival theme to the downtown area. The second thing you might notice is the 155-meter tower that dwarfs everything in sight. Originally a hair brained idea during Victoria’s reign, this tower was designed to be a scale replica of Paris’s Eiffel Tower. Blackpool saw genius in the concept and eagerly built the tower which has since become the most famous landmark in the region. But the tower is more than just a steel replica of the Eiffel Tower, it is an entertainment megaplex! At its base is the Tower Ballroom, Tower Circus, the Hornpipe Gallery, and even a dinosaur themed ride for the kids. When you are finished being amazed at this oddity you’ll find plenty more to do.
