About Rennes
Rennes, France is located in northwestern France. The ancient section of town was built on a hill with the north side more elevated than the south side. This section of town was built where the Ille and Vilaine Rivers meet. Since that time town has expanded, but its basic location remains the same. The Parlement de Bretagne was built in the 17th century is the most famous building of the area. It had to be rebuilt in 1994 due to a fire caused by a protester. There are a number of traditional timber fram homes in the area and they are fun to look at with many around the local plazas. There are also medieval houses that are interesting and appealing.
