Opéra General Info
This area is the commercial heart of Paris. Bankers, brokers, reporters and also tourists, theatre goers and shopaholics chase one another through the streets of this quarter rich in modern history. In its natty "passages", among which we like to remember the "Passage des Panoramas", the "Passage Jouffroy" or the "Passage des Princes", well known among the pipe smokers, you will find lots of shops and department stores, ranging from the more exclusive to little shops. Not to miss the "Café de la Paix" and the "Harry's Bar", where Hemingway and Francis Scott Fitzgerald used to hang out, and the n° 14 of the "Boulevard des Capucines" where a plaque reminds those who pass by of the first motion picture show of the Lumiere brothers in 1895.
