Hôtel des InvalidesGeneral Info Les Invalides, formerly known as Hospital des Invalides, was built in 1676 under the reign of the "Sun King" Louis XIV who wanted a place to house the crippled and wounded soldiers of his army. This complex nowadays is home to some museums, all related to the military history of France, and at the same time is the burial site for some of the most valiant war heroes of France, the most known is the shrine that encloses the remains of the Emperor Napoleon.
