Chaillot

General Info

The village of Chaillot, which rises above the homonym hill, was absorbed by the city of Paris in the XIX century. It is over the hill of Chaillot that Napoleon wanted to raise a palace for his son that was meant to by the biggest and the most charming in Paris; unfortunately the Emperor never fulfilled his dream because he fell into decay when it was still under construction. Chaillot has many boulevards that converge in "Place Trocadéro", well known for its cafés. From this square springs the "Avenue du Président Wilson", the street with the highest number of museums in Paris. In many of the lavish buildings in this quarter you might find the headquarters of important companies and some embassies. Going west you will find the "Haute Bourgeoisie", one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in Paris.
