Arc de Triomphe General Info
The Arc de Triomphe was built to honour all the soldiers who fought for France. It was intended as a tribute to Napoleon but it was finished only during the Restoration Period. It bears the names of 660 generals and soldiers, and underneath it lays the tomb of an unknown soldier who fought during the I World War.
