The Puerta de Europa (also known as the gate of Europe, Torres KIO, or Europe’s Gate), is a set of twin office buildings in Madrid, Spain. These towers were designed by two American architects named Philip Johnson and John Burgee. It was built by the Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas. It I was commissioned by the Kuwait Investment Office. Both buildings stand 115 meters tall and have an inclination of 15 degrees. The buildings are located near the Chamartin railway station. This is located on the side of the Plaza Castilla bus station and north of the Paseo de la Castellana. Puerta de Europa is also located just outside of the Cuatro Torres skyscraper park. KIO was forced to sell the buildings a few years ago, and now Puerta de Europa is owned by the companies of Realia and Caja Madrid. The building is also famous for being a part of the 1995 Satanic comedy film El dia de la Bestia. Hotels in Puerta de Europa are luxurious and made for those who are doing a bt of business traveling. Many tourists also find that this is a great place to stay because of the great location in Madrid.
