Aranjuez General Info

Aranjuez is a town that is part of the Madrid metropolitan area. It is located in the south of Madrid and is also located at the confluence of the Jarama and Tagus rivers. There is a population of more than 48,000 people in Aranjuez. What Aranjuez is best known for is one if its Spanish Royal sites, the Palacio Real de Aranjuez and the gardens here as well. There is also a lot of farming in this community, with strawberries being the major product.

An interest tradition in Aranjuez is to have dinner in the picnic areas of the Tagus River in the summer. The picnic areas are called gangos. This Spanish word is only used in the town of Aranjuez.
