Ibiza Hotels
IbizaIbiza is a city of approximately 100,000 people, located on an island of the same name. Though it is a part of Spain, it is located in the Mediterranean, and is therefore an extremely popular tourist destination. It is so popular, in fact that the population statistic stated above becomes almost meaningless during the summer months, when people flock to the beautiful island for some fun in the sun. Ibiza in the past has had the reputation as a “party island”, because of its roaring nightlife and scores of young people, but there’s more to Ibiza than that. It offers over 100 miles of stunning coastline, with many quiet beaches and hidden coves. Ibiza is home to Es Vedra Rock, a small island that juts out of the sea to the west of Ibiza. It is considered to be a mystical place by some. It has a quiet magnificence about it, and takes on a magical aura at sunset, when the setting sun reflects the towering monolith that is the island. Boat tours are available to this beautiful spot nearly all year round. Of course the nightlife is there, you can find parties and nightclubs going non-stop, all night long, during the summer months, but there’s also a quiet side to Ibiza, a side of sidewalk cafes and shopping, and lovely vistas for photographers and artists. There is a town center in Ibiza that dates from medieval times, with beautiful churches and cathedrals, and narrow, winding streets which take you away to another time. The beaches in Ibiza are unparalleled for their gorgeous white sand and crystal clear blue water. Because Ibiza is such a popular destination, travel plans for summers must be made well in advance. The tourist who hits Ibiza in the off-season will find a different place, much quieter, with more unpredictable weather.
