Passeig de Gracia, also known as Paseo de Gracia, is a major business thoroughfare in busy Barcelona. It is Barcelona’s premier shopping and business district, and it also contains some of the city’s most famous architecture. This street is acknowledged to be the most expensive real estate not only in Barcelona, but also in all of Spain, even surpassing the trendy Calle Serrano in Madrid.
Notable architecture on this street includes buildings designed by Sagnier, Josep Puig i Cadalfalch, and of course Gaudi. Barcelona’s most extravagant and expensive hotels are located along this street, as are the priciest boutiques, with the latest fashions and accessories, and fanciest world famous restaurants. The nice thing about Passeig de Gracia, however, is that walking along it is free, and you can stroll for hours, perhaps with a stop at a local cafe, and just admire the beauty of the numerous spectacular buildings, and the the myriad people bustling along the sidewalks.
