Parc Guell

This surrealistic city park is the result of a commercial "fiasco". Güell asked Gaudi to build some residential houses for Barcelona's upper class on his property on the Bare Mountain (Montaña Pelada). Unfortunately Gaudi's architecture wasn't loved by his contemporaries therefore Gaudi built only two houses that were never sold (actually Gaudi and his family moved in one of them, here you can see some astonishing pieces of furniture designed by the famous Catalan architect; if you wish to visit Gaudi's home inside the Park and the Sagrada Familia ask for the discounted ticket that will grant you entrance to both attractions). Since the residential area project was put aside Güell decided to donate the park to the city of Barcelona. The genius of Gaudi built an incredible series of pathways and resting areas, modeling everything following nature's example. Here you will find the most comfortable benches in Barcelona, modeled directly by a mans naked buttocks! From the park's view point you will be able to see the best view of the city of Barcelona and its bay.
