About Lübeck
"The city of Lübeck is the second largest city in Schleswig-Holstein, in northern Germany. It is on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites due to its wonderful architecture and gothic landmarks, which make it a historical hot spot for tourists.
The city borders the Baltic Sea and is close to neighbouring major cities including Hamburg and the stunning Baltic coastal resorts of Mecklenburg Pommerania. The hotels in Lubeck are therefore located in a great central area, with advanced transport links to help you explore the surrounding regions.
There is much to do whilst staying in your Lubeck hotel, the most famous area to visit being the Altstadt, a medieval old town situated on a small island, surrounded by the Trave River. This is a living, breathing city which offers some of the best medieval ruins and architecture you may find, and ultimately draws a large number of tourists to the area.
Other attractions in close vicinity to the hotels in Lubeck include visiting the many historical Churches located in the city, the two city gates (Holstentor and Burgtor) and get a wonderful cultural experience in the St.-Annen-Museum and the Buddenbrookhaus.
If you fancy travelling the city in style then hop on a cruise boat near the Holstentor side of the city, where you can travel along the many rivers in the city and view a number of famous landmarks on your way.
It’s worth remembering to buy some world famous marzipan to take home whilst staying in the hotel in Lubeck, as this is the city’s main source of production, and there are a number of phenomenal shops dedicated solely to selling the food. "
