About Kassel
"Kassel, Germany is located on the Fulda River. During World War II the city was nearly completely destroyed and has been rebuilt since that time. Much of the construction took place during the 1950's making Kassel a whole new place. Some parts of buildings remain original with rebuilt sections after the war. This includes the Bruderkirche and the Church of St. Martin which were originally built during Medieval times. There are some historic buildings on the outskirts of town that survived. These include the Wilhelmshohe Palace which is located above the city and was built in 1786 and now serves as a museum with a famous wall paper collection, a large imported collection of Graeco-Roman antiques, and many amazing artworks (including the second largest collection of Rembrandts in Germany).
