Alexanderplatz is renowned for some notable structures such as the Television Tower, the fourth tallest structure in Europe and the World Time Clock.
The Television Tower, built under the German Democratic Republik (1965-1969), is 368 meters high and has a rotating restaurant (20 minutes to complete a rotation) and visitor platform at the height of 204 meters. The Television Tower was and still is a symbol of Berlin.
For the visitors there are lifts (or a stairway with 986 steps) that reach the sphere section within 40 seconds.
The owner of the Television Tower is Deutsche Telekom. Remember that the Television Tower is not accessible by wheelchair.
