Schöneberg General Info

Once a small village on the outskirts of Berlin in the 1200s, Schöneberg is now a lively district just west of the city centre. A Schöneberg hotel puts you in the heart of some of the city's most charming neighbourhoods, including the affluent Bayerisches Viertel, Rote Insel and Lindenhof. It is also home to Berlin's historic gay district in the Nollendorfplatz. One of the most popular sights in the Schöneberg is the lively Winterfeldmarkt, where locals come on Wednesdays and Saturdays to shop for hidden treasures among the hundreds of stalls. A Berlin hotel in Schöneberg is surrounded by an incredibly variety of restaurants on around Akazien and Goltzstrasse, and great nightclubs around Viktoria Luise Platz. There are also a number of historic buildings in this charming district, and many residential neighbourhoods where young families have moved in and restored old apartments. A stay in a Schöneberg hotel also puts you close to the historic Town Hall, where politicians cheered from the balcony when the Berlin Wall fell. Also close to this district is the beautiful Tiergarten, which is a stunning park, and the site of many important concerts and events.
