Stromovka Park

Stromovka Park began as hunting grounds for the Czech royals in 1268, and has remained a tranquil spot to enjoy a peaceful moment, away from the bustle of fast-moving Prague. There are many paths that wind their way through the many park trees, which is the namesake for the park itself; ‘strom’ is the Czech word for ‘tree’. You can take a nice relaxing walk through the trees, or pull up a patch of grass for a picnic, and watch the Stromovka Park fountain spout aimlessly over the man-made pond. There are boats that can be rented for a tranquil float on the pond, or bring your bicycle for any of the paths through the park; you can even ride through the park on horseback if you prefer. This is definitely the place to go after a long day of site-seeing, when you just want relax and unwind, and prepare yourself for the next day, or just to recharge your batteries before heading out on your next adventure in Prague.
