Smetana Hall of Municipal House

Located in the famous Prague Municipal House, and home to the Prague Symphony Orchestra, is the great Smetana Hall. Every year, Smetana Hall hosts hundreds of cultural and social events, including reception and balls, as well as concerts from not only the Prague Symphony Orchestra, but many other world-renowned soloists and ensembles. In the grand style of the High Art-Nouveau period of architecture and decorative design, this 1,200 seat hall is a true sight to behold, and will evoke thought of the grandeur and scale of the Old World Prague. The decorative touches that detail the Smetana Hall are mainly comprised of works from Czech artists of the early 20th century, including Alfons Mucha, and are as intricate as they are beautiful. If you are interested in music, and wish to see a concert in the grandest of settings, you should check the schedule and see what is being presented during your stay, and since the Municipal House is located in the center of Old Town Prague, you would do well to find a hotel near Smetana Hall to make things bit more convenient.
