Planetarium Prague

The Planetarium Prague is the largest facility of its kind in the Czech Republic, and serves as an excellent place to observe the wonders of the night sky indoors. There are three full sized planetarium projectors in the facility, each projecting different views of the stars based on the shows that are being delivered. Most of the shows are in the Czech language only, though some of the shows have translations via headset available for English speaking visitors. The building itself is divided into three main areas, Starvid Hall, Cosmorama Hall, and the main foyer area. In the foyer you will find a small planetarium hall that shows a short program, along with the gift shop, and some permanent astronomical exhibits. The Cosmorama Hall is the largest room in the facility, and can project for over 200 viewers; it contains the largest projection screen in the Czech Republic, at over 843 square meters. Starvid Hall is the smaller of the two main halls, and can seat just under 100 hundred viewers. The shows in this hall tend to focus more on computer simulations, animation, and virtual reality displays.
