The picturesque Nerudova Street links Charles bridge to Prague Castle and is named after the writer/journalist Jan Neruda who lived here in the house of The Two Suns. Many ancient buildings along the road have house signs to distinguish one from another (house numbering dates back to the second half of the XVIII century) and sometimes also to indicate the owner's trade or craft. Some of these signs still remain on the facades of palaces, like the Golden Crown, the Three Fiddlers (having been the house of violin makers), the White Pigeon, and so on.
