Muzeum Metro Station is one of the busiest in the city of Prague. It is located at the upper end of Wenceslas Square, and is crossed by both the A and C Lines. It derives its name from the proximity of the National Museum, which sits at the southern end of Wenceslas Square, which is not a square at all; rather, it is a short road which has been the site of many important events in Czech history.
There are many places within walking distance of the Muzeum Metro Station. The National Museum, which was completed in the early 1800’s in the Neo-Renaissance style, is the largest museum in the Czech Republic. Wenceslas Square is full of things to do; whether you’re into shopping or eating, you’ll find plenty of both. In addition, the architecture is spectacular, and there’s statuary all around. This metro station is literally surrounded by pubs, shops, discotheques, and people; Wenceslas Square is one of the most popular meeting places in the city, which is one of the reasons the Muzeum Metro Station is crowded 24 hours a day.
