About Puntarenas
Puntarenas is located in Costa Rica’s largest province, Puntarenas. It is the biggest city in the Central Pacific. Puntarenas translates into ‘sandy point’ in the native language Spanish, and used to be one of the country’s main seaports. This city attracts thousands of tourists yearly and is a central place to explore the many beautiful beaches and islands in the surrounding areas, including the stunning Playa Naranja.
