Spelled many ways, the Tianning Temple Pagoda, formerly Tianning Temple, is located in the northwestern corner of Anyang County just outside Guang’anmen in Beijing. This temple under went reconstruction in 2004 and reopened to a warm welcome by locals and tourists alike. The pagoda was built during the Liao Dynasty and is representative of one of the ancient culture the city of Beijing offers. The name Tianning Temple means Temple of Heavenly Tranquility and is built of stone with thirteen stories, but no inside staircase. Many hotels cater to those who wish to visit the pagoda and may offer maps, shuttle service and other information.
